Today SM Hydro is one of the leading manufacturers of high-pressure hydraulic satellite motors. These are designed based on the solutions of its own research and development department and manufactured thanks to a modern production base.
Hydraulic satellite motors are used as drive units in many industries (aerospace, shipbuilding, construction, agriculture, etc.), wherever it is desirable to achieve high torque at low speeds and small dimensions of the drive unit.
Satellite hydraulic motors can be driven by various types of hydraulic fluids, from natural and synthetic oils, water-oil emulsions of various proportions, to water itself.
Solutions driven by low-percentage water-oil emulsion have found their main application in extremely harsh mining conditions – in explosive risk zones. They can be used wherever, for safety reasons, mineral oils cannot be used, and on the other hand, power is available from high-pressure emulsion hydraulic networks driving mechanized longwall supports.
In the mining industry, the use of SM and SMW generation hydraulic satellite motors as a drive unit has enabled the implementation of a whole range of tools and equipment for underground work, which have won the recognition of users both in Poland and widely abroad (Czech Republic, Germany, Australia, China, USA).
SM Hydro continues its long-standing cooperation with scientific and teaching centers. As a result of a number of filings, the company has obtained nearly 60 patents in the field of power hydraulics at the Polish Patent Office.
The company’s production facility has a modern machine park based on numerically controlled machine tools, including multi-purpose EDM machines, performing extremely precise motor components and tools.

SM Hydro is the exclusive manufacturer and distributor of Becorit and Becoplast linings made under license from the German company Becorit GmBH. These linings and linings are used in wheels and drive drums of hoisting machines and reels in the mining industry. The exclusivity granted by the manufacturer applies to the markets of Central European countries (Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary).
